Yesterday was the last day of the Forest Farmer's Market this year. We had a great year, with a great balance of vendors and an awesome turnout of customers. Thank you to everyone who came out to the markets this year. It was a great way to to move home.
Now that farmers markets are over, it is time to focus even more on the farm. The fall means time to clean up the row cover, and insect netting in the fields. I am hoping to rent a shipping container to hold them over the winter. I would like to seal them away from nesting rodents.
The new planting in the greenhouse is growing well, despite maybe being planted a tad late. I have a beautiful crop of arugula, and some nice spinach available. The bok choi is still great and the radishes and salad turnips are looking great! I am still planting microgreens weekly. The farmstand will continue to be open Friday 2-5 and Saturday 10-3.
The fall is a good time to catch up on jobs that get left behind in the spring. I have a bunch of irrigation line that needs to be rolled up. Some window need to be installed in my barn, and I have some repairs to do on my greenhouses. There is always work to be done!
