It's September and we have had some beautiful weather! The sunny days and light breezes make being outside feel great! I've got all my squash out of the field. I have made great progress on cleaning and sorting my garlic, and I have dug most of my potatoes. We are down to only three more weeks at the Farmer's Markets, and while I won't miss the early mornings and the scramble to load my van each week, I will miss the market atmosphere, the camaraderie of the vendors and seeing the regular customers each week (and the dogs, I love seeing the happy dogs at the market).
Even though the market is done, my season isn't. I will be adjusting the farm store hours when the markets end. Also, I will still be offering CSA subscriptions. I have been playing around on my website and I think I have found a good way to manage my CSA using it.
If you sign up for a farm share now, your card will be charged weekly for the amount, and you will receive points in your account that you can use to buy vegetables. This new method means you can check your account balance on my website, save your points for later, and cancel anytime. I am hoping that this will make the CSA run a little smoother by taking some of the administrative tasks off my hands.
